So as we enter Spider-Man's 3rd adventure we first table the idea of having Peter Parker go off on a long journey after the death of his parents at the hands of The Chameleon. We also have settled on a name for our master script. Taking a lead from my suggestion of giving Spider-Man a Dark Knight type polish as well as invoking the scientific name for spiders (Arachnids), the students have decided the title of our screenplay will be,
THE ARAC-KNIGHT
While we haven't settled on our main villain yet, the students love the idea of Peter feeling jaded and leaving New York to deal with his depression over losing his parents. After putting it to a vote, the students have decided that Peter will take off and lose himself in.....................................AFRICA,
I applaud the students for a brilliant idea as I had the opportunity to tour the Dark Continent in my 20s and I fell in love with the primal nature of the South African landscape and the gorgeous creatures that inhabit the plains. Having Peter go off on safari to find himself gave me an excellent idea of proposing our main villain to be KRAVEN the HUNTER, who is still to this day my favorite member of the Arach-Knight's rogue's gallery,
Not only do I fantasize about playing Kraven should the opportunity present itself, but I love the concept of having Kraven find Peter in Africa during his travels and giving him a Henri Ducard/Ras al Ghul type of mentoring before the eventual conflict of ideals cause a rift in the partnership which will lead to an aggressively physical showdown before Peter is both inspired and driven to go back to New York and apply his new superhero vibe onto the streets of the Big Apple.
So with a new element secured in place, let's move on the premiere appearance of DR OCTOPUS, whose debut coincides with President Kennedy's infamous "Ich Bin Ein Berliner" speech in Germany, the 1st annual NHL Draft and the formation of ZIP Codes by the US Postal Service.
